Date(s) - April 8, 2023
It’s back! Save the date for the return of The Great Village Egg Hunt on Saturday, March 31st, 2024!
Invite your friends, family, and customers to join you on the hunt – the hunt lasts until the last egg is found!
How many eggs will we fill this year? Well, it depends! We are reaching out to local businesses and organizations for prize donations. The more prizes we gather, the more eggs we will fill and hide around the Village of Spring Lake. Last year we had over 150 prizes donated and filled hundreds of eggs full of candy. This year our goal is to fill 1,000 eggs!
Eggs will be hidden throughout the day so that everyone has a chance to find one. There is a limit of one prize egg and/or one Golden Egg to be redeemed per person. If you find a prize egg or a Golden Egg, there will be a numbered certificate inside the egg that shows what you have won and how you can redeem it for the prize. There will be a booth during the day of the event to visit to redeem any prize eggs or you can come to Village Hall Monday – Friday between 8am-5pm.
New this year! We will have a designated area for the littles where they can go to be able to find an egg. Also, bring a bag to pick up litter while you’re on the hunt for a chance to win a special prize.
Great Village Egg Hunt Facts:
This is not your regular community egg hunt where eggs are put out in the wide open and it’s a mad dash to try to get one egg. We have a lot of awesome prizes that have been donated so it will be a challenge to find them. This is a fun way for families and friends to go on the hunt together, get some fresh air, visit local businesses, play in our parks, and more.
Pro-Tip: If you have littles, we suggest bringing a few pre-stuffed eggs to hide when they are not looking.
If you are looking for a traditional egg hunt, Grand Haven’s Egg Hunt at Central Park is happening on Saturday at 11 am.
Eggs will be hidden in public spaces and outside of businesses throughout the Village. The Village boundaries are from Fruitport Road to the Spring Lake bridge.
Limit of one prize egg and one Golden Egg per person. Prize eggs will have a slip inside of them that is numbered and say what the prize is. You can bring your slip and egg to Village Hall between 8am – 4pm on Saturday to claim your prize or you can pick up prizes during regular Village Hall hours starting Monday, April 18th. Find multiple prize eggs? Rehide them for someone else to find and enjoy.
New eggs will be hidden and rehidden throughout the day. If you bring your plastic eggs to Village Hall on Saturday from 8am to 2pm, we will reuse them.
There will be hundreds of traditional eggs also hidden throughout the day with candy and trinkets inside.
The Easter Bunny and Easter Chick will be visiting the Village between 11am – 1pm. Stop by Village Hall to meet them and get photos!
Bonus giveaway! Take photos & videos of your family and friends on the hunt and post them in the Facebook event or on Facebook and Instagram using #VillageEggHunt to be entered to win $25 in Chamber Dune Dollars.
If you bring a bag to collect any post-winter litter and trash you find while searching for eggs, you can bring your filled bags to Village Hall to receive a prize. We will collect the litter and trash at Village Hall Saturday 8am – 2pm. FYI – Earth Day is April 22nd!
This event is made possible by the prize donations and sponsorships from small, local businesses, volunteers, and the support of the Village of Spring Lake and the Downtown Development Authority.
If your business or organization would like to join in the fun, become an event sponsor or donate prizes! 2023 Sponsorship & Prize Donation Packet or sign up online directly here!
Why are we doing this? Because it’s fun! And it’s an Easter egg hunt for all ages. Last year hundreds of people visited the Village to try their luck at hunting for one of the prize eggs. The hunt isn’t over until the last egg has been found.Learn More
