Michigan Sea Grant educator Dr. Dan O’Keefe discusses the environmental impacts of dredging the Grand River. The controversial Grand River Waterway proposal to dredge the river in order to provide access for recreational boaters between downtown Grand Rapids and Lake Michigan is being debated throughout W. Michigan. Learn about potential hazards to river habitat, water quality and aquatic species as well as some of the hidden costs of the project.
