Regional Arts Organization Hosts “Parking Lot Pop-Up” in Spring Lake Social District
The organization behind art events in local lumberyards, boatyards, printshops, parks, and more will be popping up in a new and unexpected place in May—this time for a trunk show and sale in the Village parking lot behind Stan’s Bar in Spring Lake.
Art in the Village: A Parking Lot Pop-Up, May 7, 1-4pm, is Lakeshore Visual Arts Collective’s (LVAC) first event in the Village. LVAC is a nonprofit arts organization known for its innovative pop-up art events in unexpected places along the lakeshore.
Dubbed a “trunk show,” the parking lot pop-up includes LVAC painters, photographers, potters, glass artists, jewelry makers, and more who will set up and sell work, literally, from the trunks of their cars.
The event is within the Village’s social district, so patrons can shop with adult beverages from any number of local spots. Smoke N Ash food truck will be onsite with incredible eats.
“We’re excited to host this pop-up in the Village and delighted by their support in making it happen,” says Marlan Cotner, LVAC chair. “And we’re thrilled to be in the social district where shoppers can enjoy a beer and bbq, while they take in the show.”
While many artists accept credit cards and digital payment (Venmo, Apple Pay, etc.), some do not.
Patrons are encouraged to bring more than one method of payment.
